In this sculpture, I attempted to capture the inherent beauty and complexity of the natural world using man-made materials.

 

I stumbled upon broken coral on a serene Caribbean beach.

 

 

I used bronze sculpting to add a missing part and create a visually striking piece that accurately reflects the delicate and graceful qualities of nature.

 

The use of white coral and burnished bronze creates a stark contrast of materials, highlighting the inherent futility of trying to replicate something so complex and inherently beautiful.

 

Despite our best efforts, nature will always surpass our attempts at replication. This sculpture serves as a reminder of the unmatched beauty of the natural world, and the futility of trying to imitate it.
