Embrol Wall Calendar

Embrol Ukraine LTD commissioned me to develop a souvenir calendar for their international clients and partners. Considering the geography and uniqueness of partnerships, I suggested using the pre-Christian motifs of the ancient Slavs, their beliefs, rituals and legends as a theme for the calendar. The result was a 12-page calendar with illustrations of the year's four seasons - winter, spring, summer and autumn.

To create illustrations, I immersed myself in ethnographic materials and books. The illustration technique was a mixture of natural mediums such as gouache, watercolour, and digital drawing using a Wacom tablet.

In the illustration below, you can guess the motifs of the ancient spring holiday of Easter - the feast of the spring equinox for pagans. The pagans lived in strict accordance with natural rhythms and laws, and the solstices and equinoxes were considered sacred times.Creating this illustration, I wanted to capture the beauty and mystery of spring's awakening, the smells and sounds of spring.
